I am starting a small janitorial services sole proprietorship in NY. I have applied for a Certificate of Authority to Collect Sales Tax. I have no prior convictions or tax issues so should I expect to be approved or is it difficult to be approved?

If you do not sell retail items, you should not have to collect tax. If you do sell retail, you should be approved.
