Will students be affected by the AMT tax issue?
asked:
I am a full time student, filing income taxes independently, who normally completes forms for the Education Credits. I’ve read that Form 8863 for Education Credits is one of the forms affected by the AMT tax law changes. Does this mean that students will have to wait until after February 11th to file for an income tax return?

(Please say no…I want my money!!!)

Sorry, yes you’ll have to wait – you can’t file that form until Feb 11 unless they get the programming changes done earlier than that and change the date.
