At least she had the common sense to withdraw her name for consideration.

Bonus Question: Will Baracky pick a republican senator for this job in case the Gregg plan backfires?
any one surprised
Is it Baracky’s vetting process to start looking into their backgrounds on the eve of the Senate hearings?

She was most likely TOLD to quit or be taken out. When you get into high level professional jobs, they usually don’t fire you unless you have done something way over the top. Most of the time your boss approaches you and asks you to quit or be terminated. Of course you choose to quit, because that looks better on a resume.

Although, if I was her, I would not have embarrassed myself by giving a press conference and making a media circus out of it, to make Obama seem like he is being responsible. You could obviously see she didn’t want to be there.

  2. Reality has a Liberal Bias Says:

It’s Obama’s vetting process that’s uncovering these issues.

Shall we we apply it to Republicans?

  3. Hussien Hunter Says:

No I am not: Look at his pick for treasurer:

Sen. Charles E. Grassley, ranking Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, has been asking questions about a housekeeper who worked briefly for (Obama appointed Treasury Secretary-nominee) Timothy Geithner without proper immigration papers, and multiple years when Mr. Geithner didn’t pay Social Security and Medicare taxes for himself…..

  4. Fred Head Says:

President Hussein has no problem employing criminals. Rod Blagojevich would have a great chance jumping on board. So much for setting a “new tone” in washington.

  5. Brandon Says:

How about the confirmed 17 Lobbyist? HOPE AND CHANGE HOPE AND CHANGE… Sounds like More Liberalism to me.

  6. STEPH W (Let's do this thing Says:

Obama’s vetting process is flawless, they should apply it to republicans too.

I thought that our politicians were supposed to our Representatives, they no more Represent me than the man in the moon. How clueless do you need to be to be caught in this kind of stuff? Are they really that ignorant of the tax laws that they caught over and over again?
Heads up to you guys in Washington….pay the payroll taxes on your hired help, or hire a tax man who knows what he’s doing.

  8. William S Says:

She owed a little over 900 dollars and she had the good sense to drop out and the others owed thousands up thousands and they’re staying in…doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Daschle owed $140,000 and the IRS dropped the penalties, hows that for a zinger.

  9. Nobama Says:

She used to work for the Clintons. Now are you still surprised?

  10. TheBansheeofBebop Says:

This happens so often, both at the federal and state level, that I really think politicians begin to see themselves as a law unto themselves. They say power corrupts, and it seems to be true. How else can these people act as if the law is for other people and not them?

Some people say that the GOP is the party of the rich, but it seems as if EVERYONE we elect, no matter what their party is, identifies more with rich people than with poor people – except in an election year.

  11. Planet Says:

No, considering that 40% of all Americans have errors on their taxes.

This last nominee owed a sum of “$298 in unpaid taxes, $48.69 in interest and $600 in penalties. Killefer didn’t get the lien extinguished for almost five months, until July 29, 2005.” That’s a lot less than Joe the Plumber owed on his back taxes. Where is the forgiving nature of the Republicans now? It was poor Joe and take up a collection on Rush to help him but Killefer gets fried.

“In a democracy, the people get the government they deserve” – attributed Alex DeToqueville, but no one seems sure.

    I found an excellent blog written just after Obama’s election. . . it’s worth reading. . .

“So let Obama cast about trying to “fix” the economy. He and his cronies should have been reading Adam Smith instead of Marx. If they had, they’d know that a free-market economy has a way of healing itself. Of course, they have to look like they’re “doing something,” so they’ll throw some stuff at the wall and watch it slide impotently down.

And it will come at a crushing expense to all of us.

They will discourage free enterprise and punish entrepreneurship, whether they mean to or not.

They will quash our 1st Amendment rights in the name of “fairness.”

They will do their best to reverse the marginal gains we’ve made with the 2nd Amendment over the last few years.

They will endanger our sovereignty by insisting on open borders and negotiations with tyrannical regimes. They will falter when force is required, whether it be military or diplomatic. They will make us appear weak in the eyes of the world, and they will kowtow to the United Nations, an organization that serves no irreplaceable purpose on the world stage.

They will do their best to pack the Supreme Court with “progressive” justices. In case you don’t know, “progressive” means that concepts like individual rights and habeas corpus are anachronisms.

They will leave us with a crushing tax burden, a lack of security and the unforgivable idea that Socialism, in any form, is acceptable in the 21st Century.”

    - I voted Libertarian. I am glad I did.
